PFAS-Free Waterproof Fabric – An AniMac Update
As requirements around PFAS continue to change, particularly across Europe, we have been reviewing the materials used in our waterproof products.
From our 2026 production onwards, the waterproof outer fabric used in AniMac waterproof coats and customer-branded waterproof coats produced through our factory partners is PFAS-free.
PFAS have traditionally been used in many water-repellent textiles, but their use is increasingly being restricted because they remain in the environment for a very long time. European rules are already restricting particular PFAS in consumer textiles, and several countries are introducing wider controls.
We have therefore adapted our waterproof material moving forward while continuing to maintain the waterproof and breathable performance required from our products.
Please note: some older stock produced before this change remains in circulation, so PFAS-free material currently applies to new production rather than every item already held in stock.
