Who was the Biggest Horse in the World?

Sampson was the biggest ever horse - a magnificent Shire who stood at an incredible 21.5 hands tall.

He lived in the early 19th century and was owned by Captain Samuel Bennett of London. He was so impressive that he was given the name 'Mammoth' by the public in recognition of his size. Even in today's world of horse breeding, Sampson's size is rarely matched.

Unfortunately, Sampson died from colic at the age of 20 and was buried in a very large grave, surrounded by a monument that still stands today. Sampson set a new record for the biggest horse ever and will go down in history as one of the most impressive animals of all time.
