AniMac started with a simple idea — if this level of quality exists for horses, why not for other animals too?
I’m Nathan, originally from New Zealand. I’ve spent more than 25 years in the equestrian industry, working across both manufacturing and retail. For years, I dealt directly with customers every day, hearing what worked, what failed, and what needed improving.
That kind of feedback teaches you quickly. You learn what materials actually last, what performs in real weather, and what sounds good on paper but does not hold up in the field.
Our family has been making horse rugs and saddles since the late 1960s, so this industry has been around me most of my life. Over time, one thing became obvious: horses had plenty of well-made options, but other animals often didn’t.
Calves, sheep, goats and alpacas were too often left with products that were either basic, overpriced, or simply not built to the same standard.
So that is what AniMac set out to change.
We took the same thinking that works in horse rugs — proven materials, practical design, solid construction, and constant product feedback — and applied it properly to farm animals.

Built for Real Conditions
New Zealand farming conditions are a good test. Animals are outside in tough weather, and products have to earn their place.
That is the standard we work to.
We started with calf jackets, where the gap between price and quality was obvious, and expanded from there as more farmers and animal owners found us.
Today, AniMac products are used across multiple countries by people who want reliable, well-priced products that do the job properly.
